Gate partners with Visa to launch crypto-linked card

Gate has partnered with Visa to launch a crypto-linked payment card across more than 40 countries and territories. The card allows users to connect digital assets held in their Gate accounts with Visa’s global payment network, enabling purchases both online and in-store wherever Visa is accepted.

When a transaction occurs, the relevant digital assets are automatically converted into fiat currency at the point of sale. This process ensures that merchants receive standard payments through the traditional card system without needing to handle cryptocurrency directly. Users can apply for and manage the card through the Gate app as part of the Gate Money service, which integrates digital assets, bank accounts, stocks, and gold.

Visa reported that more than 160 stablecoin-linked card programs are currently live globally, with annual payment volumes increasing by nearly 200%. While the partnership expands the utility of digital assets for everyday spending, specific availability and eligibility requirements will vary by market and local regulations.
