Gator Face horror film to release using practical effects

Epic Pictures and Dread have announced the release of ‘Gator Face’, a creature feature film written and directed by Padraig Reynolds. The film is scheduled for release in select theaters on September 11, followed by a digital platform release on September 15.

Set in the Florida Everglades, the story follows a group of friends whose vacation turns into a struggle for survival against a local cult that sacrifices victims to an alligator deity. The production emphasizes an old-school approach to filmmaking, utilizing live alligators, practical gore, and in-camera effects instead of CGI or AI to achieve a tactile, unpredictable quality.

To ensure safety and authenticity, the production collaborated with Bellowing Acres, a North Florida sanctuary for rescued alligators. The ensemble cast includes Tabitha Brownstone, Amariah Dionne, Scot Scurlock, Ella Mosca, and Nikolas Kolasinski.
