Gatwick Airport reports two‑day fuel shortage, threatens flights

Gatwick Airport has warned airlines of a jet‑fuel shortage lasting for the next two days after a technical fault at one of its fuel farms. Pilots were instructed to “uplift max possible fuel at outstations” and were alerted to a “potential disruption to the Gatwick fuel supply”. The shortage is expected to hit long‑haul services hardest, as aircraft may be unable to carry enough extra fuel without breaching weight limits. The issue is not linked to the Strait of Hormuz blockade. Engineers are working with external suppliers to resolve the problem quickly.
