Gatwick Airport Launches UK's First Robotic Parking and Accessible Vehicle Hire Services

London Gatwick has introduced the United Kingdom's first robotic parking system, allowing passengers to drop off their cars in a secure cabin while autonomous robots store and retrieve the vehicles. The service, developed with Stanley Robotics, will be operational from August 2026 and lets users keep their keys throughout the trip.

In parallel, a new accessible airport vehicle hire service has been launched at Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester airports. The partnership between Specialist Vehicle Rental and Maple Parking provides wheelchair‑accessible and adapted vehicles directly at terminal entrances, available through a meet‑and‑greet or vehicle‑collection option. Both initiatives aim to improve convenience and independence for travellers.

These launches represent the latest efforts by UK airports to modernise passenger services and address specific mobility needs.
