Gaudium Animae Foundation launches classical music project in rural Romania

The Gaudium Animae Cultural Foundation has launched ‘Un Stradivarius la sat’ (A Stradivarius in the Village), a new educational project designed to bring classical music to rural communities in Romania where cultural access is limited.

The program officially commenced on September 18, 2026, with a recital in Sulița, Botoșani County, as part of the APOLODOR Children and Adolescent Literature Festival. The performance featured violinist Răzvan Stoica, performing on a Stradivarius ex Ernst 1729, and pianist Andreea Stoica. Their program included works by Mozart, Paganini, Kreisler, Bazzini, Piazzolla, Enescu, and Ciprian Porumbescu.

The choice of Sulița as the inaugural location highlights the project's focus on social harmony, as the village historically served as a model of peaceful coexistence between Romanian, Jewish, and Roma communities.
