Assam and Arunachal Pradesh leaders review regional development and investments

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has initiated a review of investment projects pledged under the Advantage Assam 2.0 initiative. During a meeting in Guwahati, Sarma met with representatives from major companies, including Adani Power, Ambuja Cements, Star Cement, Dalmia Cement, and Greenko Energies, to address implementation bottlenecks. He directed government departments to resolve these issues promptly and instructed the PWD to ensure adequate road connectivity to project sites to facilitate industrial growth.

In a separate regional development context, Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan conducted a two-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh. Addressing a special session of the state Legislative Assembly, Radhakrishnan emphasized the strategic importance of Arunachal Pradesh in safeguarding India’s borders. He urged legislators to uphold democratic traditions and focus on the state's development, noting its progress in infrastructure and agriculture.

During his broader tour of the Northeast, the Vice-President also visited Assam, where he advocated for strengthened cultural and academic ties between Assam and Tamil Nadu. He highlighted the importance of linguistic preservation and academic exchange, specifically praising research efforts at Gauhati University.
