Angol homicide suspects detained after brutal attack
Police from the OS-9 unit in Araucanía arrested two brothers, nicknamed “Los Castores,” in Angol, Chile. The suspects, aged 20 and 31, were taken into preventive detention after a court ordered the measure. They are accused of a violent assault that left a 22‑year‑old victim dead days after being attacked with kicks, punches and a bladed weapon. The brothers have extensive criminal records that include drug trafficking, illegal firearms possession, domestic violence, robbery and receiving stolen goods.
The investigation, led by Major Fernando Quiñiñir of the Angol police, involved a search warrant and entry into a local residence to secure the arrests. A 90‑day period has been set for further investigation by the court.
