Gaur Chowk Underpass opens for trial in Greater Noida West

The Gaur Chowk Underpass in Greater Noida West has opened for a three-day trial period starting November 5. The Greater Noida Authority will use this period to monitor traffic flow, vehicle volume, and management to identify and resolve any technical issues before the facility is fully opened to the public.

The 700-meter-long, six-lane underpass was constructed at a cost of approximately 92 crore rupees. It is designed to provide high-speed connectivity between Greater Noida and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, offering relief to an estimated 150,000 residents in Gaur City and commuters from Ghaziabad areas such as Siddharth Vihar, Vijay Nagar, and Pratap Vihar.

Local residents and commuters, who previously faced traffic delays of up to an hour during peak morning and evening hours, expect the underpass to significantly reduce travel times. The project includes a 130-meter wide road above the Gaur City intersection and features protective sheds at entry points to prevent waterlogging.
