Gaurang Vyas, legendary Gujarati music composer, passes away

Legendary Gujarati music composer, arranger, and singer Gaurang Vyas has passed away in Ahmedabad at the age of 87. Vyas was a prominent figure in Gujarati film, folk, and light music, having composed music for more than 100 films, including works such as ‘Bhavni Bhavai’, ‘Maniyaro’, and ‘Parki Thapan’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the musician, noting that Vyas successfully carried forward the musical legacy of his father, the renowned composer Avinash Vyas. In a statement shared on X, the Prime Minister expressed deep sadness over the loss, stating that Vyas had carved out a unique place for himself in the field and that his demise leaves Gujarat feeling the loss of a talented creator.
