Gautam Buddha Nagar health department issues notices to 15 high-rise societies over dengue risk

The risk of dengue is increasing in Gautam Buddha Nagar amid the monsoon season. The health department has intensified monitoring and inspections due to rising mosquito breeding caused by stagnant water following rains.

Notably, the threat has extended beyond rural and densely populated areas to include high-rise societies in Noida and Greater Noida. The health department has already issued 15 notices to various societies after finding mosquito larvae and waterlogging in areas such as basements, parking lots, rooftops, and construction sites.

Local hospitals report a rise in seasonal illnesses, with viral fever, colds, and body aches affecting approximately 30 to 40 percent of daily outpatients. Health officials face the challenge of distinguishing between dengue and general viral fever symptoms to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment.
