Gautam Buddha Nagar implements ‘no PUC, no petrol’ rule
Authorities in Gautam Buddha Nagar have implemented a ‘no PUC, no petrol’ policy to combat rising air pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR). Under this regulation, vehicles without a valid Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) are denied access to petrol and diesel.
To enforce the rule, a PUCC application has been installed at all 113 petrol pumps across the district. Joint teams consisting of the District Supply Officer and the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) are conducting on-site inspections to ensure compliance. Regional supply officers and inspectors are also monitoring various areas to oversee the implementation.
District Supply Officer Nilesh Utpal stated that the system will be strictly followed, and officials have been instructed to ensure petrol pump operators maintain smooth verification processes. Additionally, the administration is conducting awareness campaigns to encourage vehicle owners to maintain valid pollution certificates.
