Gautam Buddha University (GBU) in Greater Noida marked its 19th Foundation Day with the inauguration of Mission ShakthiSAT, an international space education initiative. Running from August 23 to August 31, 2026, the program brings together young women from India and 108 other countries to gain practical experience in space science, satellite technology, and STEM education.

The event was attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. India’s first astronaut, Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, participated virtually to encourage the students, describing them as the “future custodians of the planet.” The initiative aims to provide a global platform for young women to collaborate on future space missions.
