Gautam Gambhir celebrates 45th birthday

Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir is celebrating his 45th birthday. A former prolific batter, Gambhir is recognized for his significant contributions to both international and domestic cricket.

As a player, Gambhir was known for his performance in major tournaments, including scoring 75 runs in the 2007 T20 World Cup final against Pakistan and 97 runs in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup final against Sri Lanka. He also led the Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles and achieved a notable streak of 11 consecutive half-centuries in Test matches.

Before his cricket career took flight, Gambhir expressed a deep desire to serve in the Indian Army. He has noted that had he not received the opportunity to play in the Ranji Trophy during his 12th-grade year, he would have likely pursued a career through the National Defence Academy (NDA).
