Gauthier Hein signs three‑year deal with OGC Nice

Midfielder Gauthier Hein has left FC Metz to join OGC Nice on a three‑year contract. The 29‑year‑old completed his medical on Tuesday and will become the club’s second summer signing. The transfer fee is reported at €1.75 million, potentially rising to €3 million if Nice avoid relegation.

Hein, a native of Thionville, made 267 professional league appearances, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in his last season with Metz. OGC Nice coach Olivier Pantaloni praised his creative profile, while club president Maurice Cohen highlighted his work ethic and team spirit. Hein is expected to debut in a friendly against Cagliari.

The move follows Metz’s relegation from Ligue 1, ending Hein’s tenure of 97 official matches for the club since his debut in 2016.
