Gavi donates 1.3m euros to hometown and avoids serious injury

FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi has donated 1.3 million euros to his hometown of Los Palacios y Villafranca in Andalusia to support vulnerable residents. The funds are intended to finance a modern housing complex that will include approximately 150 apartments and 300 beds for homeless individuals.

Gavi expressed that the donation was motivated by seeing people struggle to survive cold winter nights without adequate shelter. The mayor of the municipality, Juan Manuel Valle, noted that the player has maintained close ties to the town despite his professional success.

Separately, the midfielder received medical attention following a knee injury sustained during a LaLiga match against Elche. While the injury initially caused concern, Barcelona medical tests confirmed it is only a bruise to his right knee, and he is expected to return to training shortly.
