Gavi invests 1.3 million euros in social housing for his hometown
FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi is investing 1.3 million euros to fund a social housing project in his hometown of Los Palacios y Villafranca, Spain. The initiative aims to provide stable accommodation for approximately 300 vulnerable individuals or people experiencing homelessness.
The project involves the construction of a complex consisting of 150 apartments. According to reports, the investment is intended as a non-profit social contribution rather than a traditional real estate venture. Gavi expressed his motivation by stating he felt a responsibility to act after seeing people struggle to survive cold winter nights without secure shelter.
The midfielder, who grew up in the municipality before moving to Barcelona to join La Masia, has maintained strong ties to his community. This philanthropic gesture follows his recent professional successes, including winning the league with Barcelona and the World Cup with the Spanish national team.
