Gavi: Superintendency mandates protection of historic Forte mule track

The Superintendency of Fine Arts and Landscape has issued mandates to protect the historic mule track of the Forte in Gavi during hydrogeological restructuring works. The project, funded by approximately 4 million euros from the State and the Region, aims to secure the hillside and protect nearby homes.

Following a service conference in late June, the Superintendency requested that the path connecting the Monserito district to the fortress be preserved. Specifically, the authorities stipulated that any new paving must use materials “affined to the constituent materials” of the original path, rather than the Langa stone previously planned. Additionally, asphalt previously laid on the initial section from Gavi must be removed, and dry stone walls along the track must be protected. The executive project for the hillside restructuring must be revised by September 30.
