Gavirate hosts cycling festival ahead of Tre Valli Varesine

Gavirate will host the ‘Aspettando la Tre Valli Varesine’ event on Saturday, September 19, as part of the Binda Cycling Festival. The day is organized through a collaboration between the municipal administration, the Tre Valli Varesine Association, the Alfredo Binda Cycling Society, and the local association Ciclovarese.

Activities include a 35-kilometer free-pace ride open to all participants, with registrations occurring between 8:30 and 10:00. Participants will receive a race pack and a pass to view the professional race. The event also features exhibitions of vintage bicycles from Luca Carraro’s collection, including 1920 Maino and Peugeot models, alongside historical photography displays.

Additional programming includes a book presentation by journalist Beppe Conti titled ‘Il Sultano,’ which focuses on French champion Jacques Anquetil, and a display of jerseys from the Ghisallo Cycling Museum. The festivities serve as a precursor to the professional Tre Valli Varesine race scheduled for October 6.
