Gavirate hosts event honoring Luigi Veronelli
The Seminario Permanente Luigi Veronelli is organizing a commemorative event on September 20 at the Chiostro di Voltorre in Gavirate to mark the centenary of the birth of Luigi Veronelli, the renowned editor, intellectual, and enogastronomer.
The program includes a roundtable discussion titled “Luigi Veronelli editore, intellettuale di rottura, enogastronomo,” which will address his impact on food and wine culture and reflect on the 1961 censorship incident in Varese where copies of a book published by Veronelli Editore were burned.
Following the discussion, a masterclass featuring a comparative tasting of Nebbiolo wines from various regions, including Langa, Alto Novarese, Valtellina, and Colline Moreniche Varesine, will be held.
