Gaya hosts community event with 300 million CFA for women
During a community event in Gaya, within the Dagana department, the Mouvement Génération Citoyenne (GOC) organized a large-scale humanitarian and economic initiative. The event included the 11th edition of a mobile free circumcision campaign, which saw 350 children circumcised, setting a new record for the initiative.
In addition to the medical services, the program focused on female empowerment and economic autonomy. Approximately 1,200 women from the Dagana and Podor departments received training certificates in saponification. To support their entrepreneurial efforts, a sum of 300 million CFA francs was distributed to women's groups, provided by the partner U-IMCEC. Mamadou Guèye, president of the Mouvement Génération Citoyenne, stated that the goal is to provide women with the tools to work and achieve independence.
