Gaya Ji attracts foreign devotees for Pitru Paksha Pind Daan rituals

During the ongoing Pitru Paksha Mela in Gaya Ji, Bihar, a group of 48 foreign devotees from various countries performed Pind Daan rituals along the banks of the Falgu River. The pilgrims, arriving in three separate groups, traveled from nations including Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, France, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, and Ghana.

According to religious leader Loknath Gaur, many of these individuals have embraced Sanatana Dharma following personal tragedies. Some devotees reported turning to these rituals to seek peace for departed loved ones, including family members lost to accidents. The pilgrims performed the traditional rites wearing Indian attire such as sarees and dhotis-kurtas, following specific religious protocols to honor their ancestors at sacred sites like the Vishnupad Temple.

The Pitru Paksha Mela, which runs from September 25 to October 10, continues to draw international interest, with organizers noting an increasing trend of individuals from diverse backgrounds traveling to Gaya Ji for ancestral rites.
