Gaya officials review preparations for Pitru Paksha Mela 2026
Authorities in Gaya, Bihar, have held a review meeting to coordinate preparations for the Pitru Paksha Mela 2026. Chaired by Bihar Agriculture Minister and Gaya प्रभारी Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, the meeting focused on ensuring a safe and organized event for the large number of domestic and international pilgrims expected to attend.
To manage the crowds effectively, the fair area will be divided into five zones and 54 sectors, with specific officials assigned to each. Key logistical priorities include sanitation, drinking water, lighting, transportation, and disaster management. For sanitation, a workforce of approximately 39,500 is being planned, and trash-cleaning boats will be deployed to clean the Phalgu River.
Additional measures include the installation of water ATMs and tankers, maintenance of street lights and high-mast poles, and the use of QR-based wristbands linked to parents' mobile numbers to ensure child safety.
