Gaya Police encounter suspects in sub-inspector's son murder case

Bihar police engaged in an encounter with two suspects involved in the shooting of a sub-inspector's sons in Gaya. The suspects, identified as Shyam Bihari and Gaurav (also known as Kala), were shot in the legs during a late-night raid in Bhiksha village following a tip-off.

The incident stems from a shooting on October 19, 2026, in the Siddharthpuri Colony, where criminals targeted the sons of sub-inspector Sudhanshu Shekhar. The attack resulted in the death of Ranu Singh and left his brother, Monu Singh, seriously injured.

During the confrontation, police recovered a pistol, a country-made pistol (katta), and ammunition. The injured suspects have been admitted to the Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital under police supervision. Investigations suggest the motive may be linked to a prior dispute or gambling-related conflict.
