Gaza children forced into manual labor to support displaced families

In the Gaza Strip, the ongoing conflict has forced many young people to abandon education for manual labor to support their families. In the Nuseirat coastal area, displaced families live in improvised tent camps along the sand dunes.

Twelve-year-old Ramadan Yaqoub Ghaban, who fled from Beit Lahia in northern Gaza after his father was killed, works shifts of up to 12 hours at a local beach cafeteria. His daily tasks include raking sand, moving furniture, and clearing trash. Despite the physical exhaustion, he performs this labor to provide for his four siblings.
