Gaza faces increased casualties and humanitarian crisis amid Israeli strikes

Israeli military operations in Gaza have resulted in further casualties and the destruction of critical humanitarian infrastructure. Recent strikes in Beit Lahiya and Khan Younis killed several Palestinians, including a four-year-old child.

In Khan Younis, an Israeli strike destroyed a warehouse containing food supplies intended for children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) reported that the facility, which supported approximately 60 medical points, is now unusable due to the collapse of its structures.

The Gaza Ministry of Health has issued warnings regarding a critical shortage of oxygen. Munir al-Bursh, Director General of the Ministry, stated that only 12 of approximately 34 oxygen stations remain operational, noting that further damage could completely halt supplies to patients.

These escalations follow statements from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz, who indicated intentions to increase strikes and address perceived security threats, such as the use of kites or drones from isolated areas. These actions continue despite previous calls for ceasefires.
