Gaza Peace Council official announces international stability force deployment

Nikolai Maladinov, the High Representative for the Gaza Peace Council, has announced that preparations are underway for the deployment of an international stability force in the Gaza Strip. Maladinov stated that equipment and logistics are partially ready, and initial assessments regarding deployment mechanisms and locations have been completed.

An agreement has been reached with Morocco to participate in the force, and negotiations are ongoing with other interested nations. Maladinov noted that discussions with Israel regarding the force are progressing, with the expectation that the first military contingents could arrive in Gaza within the next few months. While Turkey will not contribute ground troops, it remains an active part of the mediation team.

Maladinov warned that failure to implement the current American-led plan for the Gaza Strip could lead to a ‘point of no return,’ potentially resulting in renewed conflict or the permanent loss of Gaza as part of a future Palestinian state. He emphasized that addressing the humanitarian and security crisis in the territory is essential for any credible political path toward resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
