Human rights organizations and international bodies are reporting severe humanitarian and legal consequences stemming from ongoing military operations in Gaza and Lebanon. Euromed Human Rights Monitor alleges that Israel is systematically removing millions of tons of debris in Gaza to conceal evidence of war crimes and genocide, noting that over 93 percent of cemeteries in the territory have been destroyed.
In Gaza, the humanitarian situation is critical. The Ministry of Social Development reports that over 90 percent of the population—approximately 2 million people—are living in makeshift tents or among ruins. Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, including the village of Ansar, have resulted in civilian casualties, with Lebanese Prime Minister Nevvaf Selam stating that women and children have been targeted. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reports that 4,335 people have died due to Israeli military actions since March 2.
