Gaza Strip electoral commission holds workshops for 2026 elections

The Central Elections Commission has conducted a series of awareness workshops and meetings across the Gaza Strip to prepare for the 2026 legislative elections. These activities aimed to inform citizens and local stakeholders about the legal and technical procedures regarding the upcoming nomination phase.

In Deir al-Balah, sessions included representatives from local authorities, youth councils, civil society, political parties, and the Ministry of Education. Similar awareness meetings were held in Khan Younis and Rafah, involving municipalities, universities, trade unions, and various community committees. In Gaza City and the northern Gaza governorates, workshops focused on the importance of community partnership in ensuring a successful electoral process.

The nomination phase for the legislative elections is scheduled to begin on September 26 and will continue until October 7, running concurrently in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
