Gaza Strip: Israeli strikes cause casualties and oxygen crisis

Israeli military operations across the Gaza Strip resulted in at least one death and seven injuries on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The violence included airstrikes, artillery shelling, and the demolition of buildings in areas such as Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah, and Gaza City.

In Deir al-Balah, an Israeli drone strike targeted a motorcycle, injuring three people. In Khan Younis, shelling and gunfire hit areas near the Jordanian Hospital and Abu Hamid roundabout. Additionally, the Israeli military conducted several building demolitions in Rafah and eastern Gaza City.

The Gaza Ministry of Health warned of a critical oxygen crisis, reporting that 22 oxygen production stations are currently out of service, threatening to paralyze hospital operations. Meanwhile, civil defense teams recovered the remains of 21 Palestinians from destroyed homes in Gaza City and continue searching for 40 others under the rubble.
