Gaza Tribunal examines UK complicity in Palestinian genocide
The Gaza Tribunal, an independent nongovernmental inquiry, has released a new book titled ‘The Gaza Tribunal: Britain’s Complicity in Genocide.’ The inquiry examines the United Kingdom’s role regarding the Israeli military actions in Gaza.
Co-chairs of the tribunal include former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, Israeli political scientist Neve Gordon, and Palestinian legal scholar Shahd Hammouri. The group’s work follows a recent apology from British Prime Minister Andy Burnham regarding the Labour Party’s initial stance on the conflict in Gaza. Burnham, the former mayor of Manchester, assumed office on July 20, 2026, following the resignation of Keir Starmer.
Discussions surrounding the tribunal also highlight the UK government’s use of counterterrorism laws to crack down on the Palestine Action protest group.
