Turkey faces widespread planned electricity outages across multiple provinces
Multiple regions across Turkey are scheduled for widespread planned electricity outages between late August and early September 2026. These interruptions are being conducted by various regional distributors for grid maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, network improvements, and tree trimming.
Major affected areas include:
• Istanbul: BEDAŞ has announced outages in several districts on the European side, including Esenyurt, Bağcılar, Sultangazi, Başakşehir, and Silivri. • Izmir: GDZ Elektrik is managing extensive maintenance across numerous districts such as Bornova, Çeşme, Urla, Karşıyaka, and Buca. • Ankara: Outages are planned for Altındağ, Beypazarı, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı, and Keçiören. • Van: Extensive maintenance is scheduled for Muradiye, Erciş, Tuşba, Gürpınar, Edremit, Çatak, İpekyolu, and Özalp. • Denizli: ADM Elektrik will implement cuts in Honaz, Pamukkale, Buldan, Çivril, Kale, and Sarayköy. • Bursa: UEDAŞ has scheduled works across 11 districts, including Gemlik, İnegöl, and Mudanya. • Other regions: Gaziantep, Yozgat, Uşak, and Trabzon are also facing scheduled service interruptions due to technical works.
