Gaziantep carpet exporters launch trade mission to France and Italy

Leading carpet manufacturers from Gaziantep, Turkey, have launched a sectoral trade delegation to France and Italy between October 11 and 17, 2026. Organized by the Southeast Anatolian Carpet Exporters' Union (GAHIB) with support from the Ministry of Trade, the mission aims to introduce innovative products and increase market share in Europe.

GAHIB President Zeynal Abidin Kaplan highlighted the strategic importance of the visit, noting that France's total carpet imports stand at $557 million, with Turkey currently holding a $32 million share. In Italy, Turkey's share of the approximately $300 million annual import market is $17 million. The delegation will conduct B2B meetings and field research in Paris and Milan to strengthen commercial networks and establish long-term business relationships.
