Gaziantep City Hospital expands advanced diagnostic testing capabilities

The Advanced Investigation Laboratory at Gaziantep City Hospital has become a significant regional center for high-level diagnostic testing, reducing the need for patients to travel to other cities for medical analysis.

To date, the laboratory has performed approximately 15,000 advanced tests, including 10,000 flow cytometry procedures and 5,000 tests for rare metabolic diseases. These capabilities allow for faster diagnosis of complex conditions such as leukemia and lymphoma, as well as rapid metabolic screening for newborns using only a drop of blood.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uluşan, Chief Physician of Gaziantep City Hospital, noted that the ability to conduct these specialized tests locally prevents patients from losing time and simplifies access to healthcare. Medical Biochemistry Specialist Dr. Yunus Gören added that the facility performs an average of 70,000 routine tests daily, with the goal of becoming a primary reference laboratory for the surrounding region.
