Gaziantep cotton yarn factory fire brought under control
A major fire broke out at the Üniteks Tekstil cotton yarn factory in the 3rd Organized Industrial Zone of the Şehitkamil district in Gaziantep. The blaze began around 04:26 AM for reasons currently unknown.
Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber reported that approximately 3,000 square meters of the 17,500-square-meter facility were affected. Due to the highly flammable nature of cotton yarn, the fire required an extensive response involving 39 fire vehicles and 81 personnel.
Governor Çeber confirmed that all personnel were evacuated and stated, “Alhamdulillah, there are no deaths or injuries.” While the fire has been largely brought under control, cooling operations are ongoing, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the incident.
