Gaziantep court continues trial for fatal cousin stabbing

The sixth hearing has taken place in the Gaziantep 1st High Criminal Court regarding the death of Mikail U., who was fatally stabbed in the heart during a dispute with his cousin, Bekir U. The conflict reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over debts between the two former business partners.

During the proceedings, the defendant, Bekir U., claimed he had no intention to kill or injure his cousin. He testified that the victim had been persistently harassing him and that he had attempted to flee on the day of the incident, but was stopped when the victim blocked his vehicle. The defendant requested acquittal and release.

The court has decided to maintain the defendant's arrest and has referred the file to the prosecution to prepare the final opinion on the merits of the case. The hearing has been adjourned to a later date.
