Gaziantep driver fined 180,000 lira after highway stalking and assault attempt
On the TAG highway in Gaziantep, a driver identified as S.A. pursued another vehicle for several kilometres and exited his car to launch an attack. The incident, captured on video and widely shared on social media, prompted a rapid response from the Gaziantep Governor's Office and the provincial gendarmerie. After an investigation, the driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Law, receiving an administrative fine of 180,000 Turkish lira. His driving licence and the vehicle were also seized for 60 days. Officials said the measures demonstrate a commitment to protecting traffic safety and public security.
The governor emphasized that "behaviors endangering traffic safety and risking citizens' lives will be met with decisive enforcement and penalties," urging citizens to report similar incidents.
