Göztepe nets over €50 million from player sales

İzmir’s Göztepe football club has turned into a prolific “player factory,” earning more than €50 million from recent transfers. The club sold forward Romulo to German side Leipzig for €20 million, sold Brazilian midfielder Emerson to Toulouse for €3.2 million, and transferred Beninese midfielder Junior Olaitan to Beşiktaş for €6.5 million. A pending deal sees striker Juan Silva move to Russian side CSKA Moscow for €15 million plus bonuses.

In addition to the sales, Göztepe reinforced its squad for the upcoming Süper Lig season, signing Georgian goalkeeper Luka Gugeshashvili on loan from PAOK until the end of the 2026‑27 campaign, and adding foreign attackers Sinclair Armstrong, Andre Henrique, midfielder Alex Matos and defender Sonko Sundberg.

These moves reflect a strategic focus on both generating transfer revenue and bolstering the team's competitive depth ahead of the new season.
