Gaziantep footwear cluster participates in Milan trade fairs

Representatives from the Gaziantep footwear cluster recently completed an international program in Milan, Italy, as part of the International Competitiveness Development (UR-GE) Project. Supported by the Turkish Ministry of Trade and coordinated by the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GSO), the delegation participated in the MICAM Milano and LINEAPELLE trade fairs between September 14 and 17, 2026.

During the event, industry representatives met with leading global footwear, leather, and sub-industry firms to showcase the production capabilities of Gaziantep-based companies and establish new commercial connections. The participation aimed to increase the sector's international visibility, enhance export capacity, and strengthen ties within global trade networks.

The delegation also met with Mehmet Özöktem, the Turkish Consul General in Milan, to discuss bilateral economic relations between Turkey and Italy, as well as potential cooperation opportunities for the sector.
