Gaziantep hosts 12th Machine Carpet Design Competition

The first jury evaluation for the 12th Machine Carpet Design Competition has been completed at Gaziantep University. Organized by the Southeast Anatolia Carpet Exporters' Association (GAHIB) with support from the Ministry of Trade, coordination from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), and collaboration with Gaziantep University, the event aims to strengthen the Turkish carpet industry's global leadership through innovation and design.

A total of 224 original works created by 132 designers are competing across two categories. The jury is evaluating the submissions based on aesthetic value, innovation, and sectoral applicability. The competition serves as a platform to integrate young talent into the industry, which is centered in Gaziantep, the heart of global machine carpet production and export.
