Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality launches digital portal for commercial plates

The Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality has introduced a new digital transformation for transportation services through the GURTAS portal (Gaziantep Transportation Department Licensing, Registration, Vehicle, and Driver Authorization Portal). This software moves the processing of route permit documents for commercial license plates into a digital environment.

Under the new system, drivers and operators can complete applications, track progress, and download electronically signed documents online without visiting the municipality in person. Previously, users were required to prepare physical documents, submit them to the municipality, and return to collect approved permits.

The GURTAS system automates the application, review, approval, and document delivery processes. Once an application is approved, users receive an automatic SMS notification, allowing them to download their permits in PDF format from the website.
