Gaziantep resident İbrahim Halil Uzak dedicates life to reading

İbrahim Halil Uzak, a 76-year-old resident of the Şahinbey district in Gaziantep, has become a regular fixture at the Şahinbey Millet Kütüphanesi. After retiring from a career in tailoring, Uzak developed a deep interest in reading.

Following a recommendation from his son, Uzak began visiting the library daily. He typically arrives at 9:00 AM and stays until 6:00 PM, often bringing his breakfast with him. He reads approximately 40 to 50 pages of books or magazines per day, completing about one book per week. Uzak primarily focuses on historical and religious texts and uses his time at the library to serve as an example of lifelong learning for younger generations.
