Gaziantep speeds airport access with new Mavikent‑Havalimanı road

The Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality is advancing the Mavikent‑Havalimanı Road project, a 11.5‑kilometre link that will cut travel time between the city and Gaziantep Airport from 20‑25 minutes to roughly eight minutes. As of the latest inspection, about 35 % of the construction work has been completed.

The project includes a three‑lane carriageway in each direction, a total width of 50 metres, and integration with existing highways and six organized industrial zones. Land acquisition covering 862,000 square metres was finalized through agreements with residents, avoiding court proceedings. Mayor Fatma Şahin inspected the site together with AK Party officials Bünyan Bozgeyik and Fatih Muhaddis Fedaioğlu, emphasizing the project's role in improving safety, comfort and the city’s overall quality of life.
