Gazivode Lake: Demolition of structures continues in Zubin Potok

Demolition of structures is ongoing on the shores of Gazivode Lake in the Međeđi Potok area of Zubin Potok. Heavy machinery is being used at the site, and access to nearby holiday homes has been restricted by yellow tape.

Kosovo Police confirmed their presence in the area to assist with the operations. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development previously issued orders in August for the removal of several holiday homes, claiming they were built without authorization on state-managed land. The Ministry stated that the unauthorized use of public property threatens environmental protection and the sanitary protected zone of the water source.

Some property owners have contested the actions, with at least one owner submitting documentation regarding a contract with the enterprise Srbijašume. This follows previous demolitions in the Rezala village area, which included holiday homes and a chapel used for community gatherings.
