Gazoo Racing secures historic triple win at Rally Paraguay

Gazoo Racing has achieved a historic milestone at the Rally Paraguay, where driver Sami Bajari and co-driver Marco Salminen secured their third consecutive victory in the FIA World Rally Championship. Driving the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, the duo became the first crew in the championship to achieve three consecutive wins, following previous victories in Estonia and Finland.

The event presented significant environmental challenges, including high temperatures, sharp rocks, muddy terrain, and heavy rain forecasts. To combat potential flooding, the team utilized elevated air intake systems typically reserved for the Safari Rally Kenya. Despite an early setback caused by a water leak that dropped them to seventh place, the crew recovered in the service park to reclaim the lead by the end of the first day.

Bajari and Salminen ultimately secured the win with a margin of 25.8 seconds. Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Gazoo Racing, praised the team's resilience and determination in overcoming the difficult conditions.
