Gaztelagunek launches housing assistance hub at San Sebastián Film Festival

Gaztelagunek, an initiative by the Basque Government, has established an information and assistance hub at the San Sebastián Film Festival in Donostia. The center aims to provide direct support and information regarding rental assistance to young people between the ages of 18 and 35.

The initiative integrates housing topics with cinema through a dedicated cycle of four films. This cycle, which begins on September 22, includes screenings of films such as ‘Cinco metros cuadrados’, ‘El pisito’, and ‘Parásitos’, designed to foster discussion on housing, loss, and construction.

Gaztelagunek provides subsidies covering up to 60% of monthly rent. Financial limits for individual applicants with incomes up to €30,000 include maximum aid of €300 per person. For cohabitation units of two people, the limit is €36,764, while for large families, it reaches €39,184. The program also includes support for room rentals and subletting.
