Gąbin’s Modernized Stadion Leśny Set for Grand Opening on August 9

The renovated Stadion Leśny in Gąbin will officially open on 9 August with a ceremony beginning at 11:00. The multiyear, multimillion‑zł investment added a full‑size football pitch with a professional polyurethane track, training fields, tennis courts, sanitary‑locker facilities and a main grandstand. Funding came from the Gąbin municipal authorities, the Mazovian voivodeship, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

The opening program includes speeches by local officials, games and attractions for residents, and a showcase match featuring former Polish national team players against an old‑boys side. A V‑league match between MKS Błękitni Gąbin and KS Sokół Serock is scheduled for 17:00, marking the stadium’s first competitive use.

Mayor Krzysztof Jadczak highlighted the project’s importance for community sport and recreation, describing the venue as “beautiful and extremely functional.”
