Gbizié Troupa Bruno, famous Ivorian comedian Zoumana, dies

Renowned Ivorian actor and comedian Gbizié Troupa Bruno, widely known by his stage name Zoumana, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Abidjan. His death follows several years of health challenges.

Zoumana was a prominent figure in Ivorian comedy, most notably recognized for his role in the popular television series ‘Faut pas fâcher’. His work earned him significant national recognition, including being named an Officer in the Order of Cultural Merit of Côte d'Ivoire in 2023.

Françoise Remarck, the Minister of Culture and Francophonie, announced the passing and offered condolences on behalf of President Alassane Ouattara and the government. The news has drawn widespread mourning across the Ivorian artistic community and the general public.
