GC Cell begins Phase 1b clinical trials for GCC2005
GC Cell has announced the commencement of Phase 1b clinical trials for its drug candidate GCC2005 (CD5 CAR-NK), successfully completing the administration of the first patient in this stage. This follows the completion of the dose-escalation phase in Phase 1a.
The Phase 1b trial aims to optimize the dosage and administration methods for patients with NK and T-cell lymphomas who have relapsed or are unresponsive to standard treatments. Data gathered from this phase will be used to establish the Recommended Phase 2 Dose (RP2D) to support future global registration trials.
GCC2005 is a fourth-generation allogeneic CAR-NK cell therapy designed to target CD5, which is primarily expressed in T-cell lymphoma. It is engineered to co-express Interleukin-15 (IL-15) to enhance the persistence of immune cells within the body. To accelerate development, GC Cell plans to expand its clinical trial sites in South Korea to a maximum of six institutions.
