GCC Health Ministers meet in Bahrain to boost regional cooperation

Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with Saudi Minister of Health Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel during the GCC Health Ministers Meeting held in Bahrain. The discussions focused on strengthening Gulf cooperation in the healthcare sector to improve service levels, readiness, and efficiency.

The meeting included the 12th session of the GCC Health Ministers Committee and the 89th Health Council meeting. Key priority areas discussed were digital transformation in health, innovation, and enhancing health preparedness for future challenges. Participants also reviewed the implementation of the unified action plan for GCC health ministers for the 2026–2030 period.

Additionally, the Saudi Minister held bilateral meetings with regional counterparts to explore mutual interests in healthcare development. Saudi Arabia is set to host the 47th session of the GCC Supreme Council next year.
