Göcek-Dalaman mooring project receives EIA approval after revision

The Muğla Governorship has issued an ‘EIA Positive’ decision for the revised Göcek-Dalaman Buoy-Mooring System Project, 47 days after the Muğla 2nd Administrative Court had unanimously halted the original project's execution.

While the total mooring capacity saw a minor reduction from 864 to 856 vessels, the revised plan significantly shifts the target vessel profile. The number of mooring points for small boats (5–8 meters) has been reduced from 182 to 80. Conversely, mooring points for large vessels (20–40 meters) have increased nearly ninefold, rising from 27 to 238.

Geographic changes include the removal of Hamam Koyu and Domuz Island from the project scope due to their status as second-degree archaeological sites. Additionally, the project has abandoned land-based maps in favor of 896 sea maps. The revised project documentation consists of 1,164 pages.
